Bharata Natyam is an ancient Southern Indian dance form in which I trained at the world-renowned Kalakshetra in India. Rukmini Devi, the visionary founder of Kalakshetra continues to inspire me and my work. The rigour, the attention to detail and the multi-dimensional aesthetic that draw together Indian arts and crafts is something I have always valued and that I try to bring to my own practice.
I observe with fascination my growing conviction in my artform. I also work with practitioners from other disciplines and genres which, in turn, further enriches my insights and strengthens my resolve to discover more and push the edges of the artform from within.
